Atelier chair

A compact oak chair for studios and quiet corners.

The Atelier chair is built for the in-between places: beside a worktable, under a window, next to a stack of books or at the end of a dining table when one more person arrives. Its back has a gentle curve and its seat is broad enough for a long conversation without becoming heavy in a room.

We leave the grain visible and use a low-sheen oil that can be renewed at home. Small dents are expected. They are the beginning of the chair’s record, not a reason to replace it.

Designed to be lived with

The first prototype spent three months in the workshop kitchen. It supported morning coffee, late packing sessions and one particularly long debate about the right height for a repair bench. That everyday testing shaped the final proportions more than a drawing could have.

The chair arrives flat-packed with a small wooden key and a printed assembly guide. If you move house later, the same joints can be loosened, checked and tightened again.
